A Lovely Award and a Happy New Year!

Recently, Barbara from Haus Design graciously honoured me with the...

It was a true pleasure to receive this award from such a talented and stylish blogger. If you're not already familiar with Haus Design and Barbara's on-line boutique Linen Haus, be sure to stop by for a visit.

The conditions for receiving the Blog on Fire Award are to share five things about yourself, and pass the torch to another five deserving blogs.

The 5 recipients of the Blog on Fire Award are:

In keeping with Barbara's unique idea, rather than sharing 5 things about myself, I've decided to share five of my favorite quotes that inspire me to be a better person, each and every day:

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Be grateful for the home you have, knowing that at this moment, all you have is all you need.
~ Sarah Ban Breathnach

People will forget what you said.  People will forget what you did.  But people will never forget how you made them feel.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything.  They make the best of everything they have.

Happiness is the absence of striving for happiness.

Ultra Glam and Gorgeous Living Rooms

(via Rooms of Inspiration)
The LIVING ROOM:  A space reserved for hosting formal social gatherings, serving evening cocktails, or simply sharing tea and conversation with close friends.

Richly upholstered soft furnishings and unique side tables are arranged in conversation clusters amidst sparkling accessories and stunning statement pieces.

It's a space to indulge our more sophisticated design sensibilities.  Here are just a few of my all-time favorite Ultra Glam and Gorgeous Living Rooms.

I adore the elegant lines of this well appointed settee...

Have Yourself a Happy Little Christmas!

What do you mean, it's almost Christmas?!?!

I've been a really good kitty...honest!

Smile pretty for the camera, Puppy!

Enough with the Christmas pictures, already!

I may need to exchange this hat for a smaller size...

Do I look like a reindeer to you?

He's right behind me, isn't he?

If I open it very carefully, maybe they won't notice...

What do you mean, I don't get a present?

Every year, someone buys me another stupid sweater...

Where's Santa?

Found him...

This is gonna be a long night...

Just wake me when Santa gets here...

Merry Stinkin' Christmas.

And a Happy New Year!!!

Wishing all of my friends in Blogland a very HAPPY LITTLE CHRISTMAS!

I'm Dreaming of a White (and Pink) Christmas!

For many, warm memories of Christmases past are revisited by gift-wrapping their homes in the time-honoured colours of red and green.

And, while I'm a traditional girl at heart, I stay true to the style and colours that express my own personal vision of a beautiful Christmas.

Here are a few images that continue to inspire my eternal love of pink, even at Christmas time.

Our home is decorated for Christmas in a shimmery palette of white, silver and green, with just a few touches of frosty pink for added colour and contrast.
(My Home)

I confess to having one small display that seriously indulges my passion for pink.  This miniature flocked tree is my favorite decoration, and in our home, Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without it.

May your home be blessed by many cherished memories and precious moments shared, lovingly surrounded by your own unique and personal version of a
Bright and Beautiful Christmas!
