My Obsession with Beautiful Blue Rooms

This isn't my first post on BEAUTIFUL BLUE ROOMS, and it probably won't be my last!

In my defense, there's just so much inspiration out there!  I keep finding more living spaces decorated in the loveliest, soft and shimmery shades of blue!  Here are a few of my 'new' favorites...

Blue also naturally accentuates the blue-grey undertones in white marble, and makes polished silver sparkle!

Even a solitary splash of blue injects life and interest in an all-white kitchen.  I love how the little velvet stool holds such a strong presence in this room.

I'm instinctively drawn to interiors decorated in cool shades of blue and green. When combined with soft white to capture and reflect natural light, the effect is nothing short of breathtaking.

This analogous colour scheme evokes images of the beautiful outdoors; a quiet meadow beneath a clear morning sky, a soft canopy of trees kissing the edge of a pristine lake, lush greenery surrounding a sparkling, backyard pool.

The Significance of a Soft Blue Room

Everyone has one colour that consistently draws and holds their attention, time after time.

For me, that colour is SOFT BLUE...

A colour my imagination identifies as

~ The Silvery Blue of Morning's First Light ~

SOFT BLUE is beloved all over the world.  Traditionally associated with sea and sky, it symbolizes peace, serenity and new beginnings. 

In interior design, a shimmery, watery blue can be simply stunning.  This living room has a soft, sophisticated colour palette, evoking a sense of unassuming graciousness.

This delicate, pearl blue is an unusual choice for kitchen cabinets, but the effect is enchantingly beautiful.

A bedroom wrapped in a soothing shade of blue is the ideal environment for rest and relaxation.  The dark furniture provides a rich and tasteful contrast in this tranquil space.
 

A water inspired colour palette creates a soothing atmosphere, naturally rejuvenating the body and soul.  SOFT BLUE is often used in colour therapy for its traditional healing qualities.
 

In this lovely sunroom, the pale blue accent wall shimmers in the morning light.  Elegant and serene, it's the perfect spot to sip a cup of coffee, and enjoy a few moments of quiet reflection.
 

SOFT BLUE is easily one of my favorite colours, and never fails to captivate and inspire me.
