Home Organization: Stationery & Charging Stations

(via Arianna-Belle)

We all have a spot in our homes for housing stationery supplies, cell phones, coins, keys, and all of those bits and pieces that we need access to on a regular basis.

This gathering place is better known to most of us as...  the JUNK DRAWER.

Here are some easy and effective ways to combat the clutter and organize all of life's little odds and ends.

Divide your drawer into sections using clear containers, and label the compartments to ensure items are returned to their proper location.

Limit the quantity of each item in your drawer.  Toss broken pencils, old batteries and expired coupons, and donate extra pens and highlighters to a local school.

Designate extra compartments for each family member to stash their own daily necessities, such as breath mints and ID tags. This will help keep these miscellaneous items from cluttering your kitchen counters or getting misplaced.

Baking sheets are a creative alternative to store-bought containers. Keep your paperwork organized by creating compartments for stationery materials, items for paying bills, and other small household supplies.

Create a stationery/utility drawer for effective storage of small tools and supplies. Having these items easily accessible encourages the completion of all those small tasks and household projects.

Cell phones and ipods invariably end up on the kitchen counter at the end of the day. Corral these items in attractive charging stations with built-in hidden cord storage.

A pretty basket with labelled compartments keep the entire family organized, and help the morning routine remain calm and stress-free.

Use an old bread box to create this clever charging station for your home. The lid can be closed to keep electronic gadgets out of site and your kitchen looking neat and tidy.

I hope these tips and tricks help you to turn your "junk drawer(s)" into an organized MINI COMMAND CENTRE, personally designed to meet the unique needs of your own home and family.
